Civil P.M. & Estimator

To assist in all responsibilities in performing estimating and project management for our building earthwork & site construction operations, including utility work.

The work will involve:

  • Performing takeoffs and preparing bids

  • Estimating productions, schedule and manpower

  • Create value engineered solutions

  • Visiting sites and attending project meetings

  • Familiarity with reviewing plans, geo-technical reports, specifications & contract documents

  • Preparing change order requests

  • Applying applicable pricing to quantities and performing associated project management

  • Forge and maintain relationships with vendors and subcontractors in an effort to receive quotes, promote partnering and be comfortable in buying out work

 Should have experience with civil projects in value up to $10,000,000

Independent problem solving with little direct supervision

Minimum of 5 years experience is required.  PennDot & Carlson CAD estimating is preferred

Professional Engineer status would be helpful, but not necessary


Civil Site Supervisor

This position will report to the Project Manager and is responsible for scheduling all the civil, earthwork, roadwork, or other self-performed work and coordinate field crews through directives given to foremen as well as plan and schedule all requirements to control labor, equipment and material costs. This individual will be responsible for the timely completion of assigned operations and stay within budget. The ideal candidate should be flexible with working hours. Selected candidates will have excellent opportunity for advancement and begin working as soon as arrangements can be made.

The work will involve:

• Oversee field personnel, daily/weekly schedules, and construction operations

• Supervise and schedule paving, grading, drainage, structures and other miscellaneous highway construction crews and subcontractors on a daily basis

• Coordinate equipment and crews and other job related activities to maximize efficiency

• Manage field operations as well as coordinate work with other company Superintendents and subcontractors

• Take an active role in emphasizing safety, quality and production, leading by example

• Have a working knowledge of all required plans and specifications

• Assist Engineers with quantities and productions

• Attend status meetings to discuss progress and public impact

• Assist estimators and engineers during the pursuit of new work including borrow pit locations and selection, plant site selection, value engineering, etc.

• Assist with survey and field layout
